    Objectives

    - Getting to know essential concepts in management research and their interplay o Epistemology and philosophical worldviews o Theoretical perspectives o Methodology and research designs - Being able to apply these concepts to design research projects and PhD proposals - Being able to critically assess others’ use of these concepts

    Description

    - The research process - Epistemology and philosophical worldviews - Theory and observation - Deduction, induction and theory construction - Research questions and hypotheses - Research designs (quantitative and qualitative) - Measurement and sampling - Doing management research

    Prerequisites

    Good or very good grasp of the English language

    Teaching and learning methods

    - Presentation - Discussion in class - Tutorials

    Examination

    Participants should contribute actively to class discussion and will be assessed upon their participation.
